About the Company

ATLIS Systems, Inc. (ATLIS) is a commercial enterprise with corporate offices in Silver Spring, Maryland, production facilities in Silver Spring and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and sales offices in Boston and New Jersey. ATLIS has over 25 years of experience providing information solutions and services to both government and commercial clients. The company was formed during 1976 in response to a specific requirement of United Nuclear Corporation's (UNC) MIS department.

The UNC MIS department developed an on-line document coding litigation support system and related proprietary software, pioneering the use of on-line data capture and making a success of this approach before the rest of the industry began to experiment with it. By 1980, the proprietary document entry processing system was being offered to law firms and corporate counsels across the country. UNC ATLIS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UNC, was then constituted and began operation in 1981. ATLIS Systems, Inc. was incorporated as an independent company in 1983 and acquired the business operated by UNC ATLIS.

In November 1987, ATLIS Systems acquired the Legal Information Services Division, Publishing Services Division, and the Information Systems and Services Division of Sterling Software. These same divisions had previously been the Washington, DC based operation of Informatics General Corporation.

Professional Staff

ATLIS Publishing Services is proud of its high personnel retention rate in all areas. The majority of our senior staff members have been with the organization for over fifteen years. This allows us to provide exceptional year-to-year project continuity to our customers.

Our production staff provides excellent, personalized front-line services to our widely varied customer base. Each account is assigned a project manager who functions as the customer service representative as well as having hands-on responsibility for the production of the publication.

We have found that this approach, unlike the traditional customer service representative scenario, provides the client with more accurate, timely and detailed communication regarding scheduling, problems, and other production issues. The project manager works directly with the client to develop a status reporting mechanism which will fulfill the specific needs of the client. All customer service personnel have individual access to E-mail to facilitate electronic communication, but generally prefer to speak directly with our clients. Our professional programming and technical services staff have strong analytical skills and are all well-versed in the requirements of data processing as it relates to text management, publishing and composition.

Management Team

Our management team provides a whole complement of experience and expertise. Collectively, our management team has more than 100 years of experience in scientific, technical, medical, legal, and professional publishing in the areas of books, journals, buyers' guides, directories, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and loose-leaf publications. They provide expert direction and interface personally with our customers to provide customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
